As many of you know, ive been very interested in multiple currencies. ive been speaking to a closed group about this for some time, but i feel it time to invite everyone into this conversation.
What a multiple currencies Class could do, for starters, is add a new dynamic system for nations to achieve before bieng granted a currency, almost like a quest line for new nations to work towards. in order to give a nation a currency, they would have to meet certain requirements, such as: Town hall, Farms, 5 towns, roleplaying government mechanics (take in mind these examples are made on a dime, and dont necessarily reflect what i believe should be in the list). Doing this would give nations a goal to work for, and would help direct nations on a path of legitimate, believable "History" that would make sense in a roleplaying environment.
It could also help to support player economy, (atleast the one i looked at) was indeed supported by vault, which makes it instantly compatible with all of our current shop plugins, as well as opening the possibility for more player friendly markets, a few examples of this would be, Currency exchanges, Currency specific traders (think of regional traders).
Another great thing it would do, if someone has 1 million dollars right now, they can buy anything they want. if we added multiple currencies this monopolization would end, having specific currency traders, would mean that someone whos rich in one area, is poor in another, leading to a more diverse player background.
Yet another great application it would have, is allowing more server based power to individual players, as well as adding a large portion of roleplay (even more than chairs), this is so because, if there are 3 nations with their own currency and you have 1 million zec dollars, 1 million mad dollars, but only 100 cyc dollars, it would inspire you to maintain and invest in a relationship with that nation, (AKA, it would create roots between players (that could possibly expand into friendships)
Finally i would recommend we piggy back another great shop plugin (chestshop (of coarse)) to go with this (if we get it) last i checked chestshop and a few multicurrency plugins were compatable, meaning that instead of the server shop killing player merchants, we could have a successful marketplace thru currency specific traders.
Thus concludes my report for multiple currencies (which i have used in the past, it was very user friendly, and required no coding to be compatible with the shops plugin i used)
i apologize for the length of the post, but there was a lot to say about it. let me and everyone else know if this should or shouldnt be added in the comments below.
